ABOUT

More than 2,000 farmers deliver their coffees to the cooperative's washing station. The plantations are very small, around 300 trees per farm, they are concentrated in the area of Mount Elgon and extend to the Ugandan border. The soils are rich in volcanic sediments, ideal and very fertile soil for coffee trees. The coffee trees grow under the shade of avocado trees, macadamia trees, albizias, ficus ...

Kimama Cooperative

The Kimama cooperative is located in the region of Mount Elgon, a fairly rainy area (between 1500 and 1700 mm per year). Farmers often multiply crops, coffees and fruits to diversify their resources. More than 2,000 farmers deliver their coffees to the cooperative's washing station. The plantations are very small, around 300 trees per farm, they are concentrated in the area of Mount Elgon and extend to the Ugandan border. The soils are rich in volcanic sediments, ideal and very fertile soil for coffee trees. Kimama coop has a washing station and the coffees come from 5 surrounding areas.
