For several years, Belco has been supporting the national tournament "Taza de Calidad Evo Morales", first by participating in the pre-selection of coffees, then by integrating the jury of the competition. Following the visit of Cesar, their quality manager, they managed to buy lots directly from some producers, who, although not officially certified, work all their farms in organic agriculture. 91% of Bolivian coffee is produced in the region of La Paz, with a main model of organic family farming that averages 2-3 hectares of coffee area. Between 1990 and 2017, production decreased from 156,000 to 31,000 bags of 60 kilos with a yield decreasing from 15 to 5 bags. The municipality of Caranavi, La Paz region, is considered the coffee capital of the country.

This microlot selected here is produced by Bernardo Condori Carnajal. He has a farm of 10 hectares, 3 of which are dedicated to coffee in the department of La Paz.
